Al (née Elio) began his career at J. Walter Thompson before joining Chiat/Day, where he opened their Vancouver office. Here at Agency59, he makes sure everyone — agency and client alike — is happily on the same page. Al is on the board of the Institute of Communications Agencies (ICA), and serves on the marketing committee for Toronto’s popular Hot Docs Film Festival.
Brian has worked with multinationals in Hong Kong and L.A., and smaller domestics. His feeling? He likes his independence. He leads creative development company-wide, never forgetting that enthusiasm, determination and innovation need to be part of the team. Brian is on the Humber College Advisory Board and is proud to be a past President of the Advertising + Design Club of Canada.
Daniel makes sure our fiscal pencil is sharp, seeing to it that we incorporate contemporary reporting and budgeting technologies, as we’re big believers in working smart. In addition to all things financial, Daniel is in many ways the hub of Agency59, overseeing human resources and other day-to-day nuances of agency life.
Andrew started agency life as an award-winning interactive designer. His passion for digital and design remains strong, as he leads not only the visual look and feel of our work, but ensures we continue pushing the boundaries of what’s digitally possible for today’s brands.
Jared loves the latest technology, especially if it influences his other loves — design and sanity of workflow. Jared oversees all final art and manages our studio, the nerve centre of the agency, yet still finds time to hone his impressive retouching skills. While Jared has the utmost respect for scheduling, he has been known to be bribed with chocolate.
Deirdre worked in Toronto’s dynamic film and television industry as a senior graphic designer and art director before starting up her own design studio. As Design Creative Director, Deirdre not only wears the most stylish eyeglasses in the company; true to our philosophy, she remains involved at every stage of development, fixing her keen eye on elevating craft and innovation. Deirdre also lends her talents to the next generation as an ongoing participant in George Brown’s School of Design mentorship program.
Suzanne has a rich background in the media arts, having worked in film and television, before focusing on digital media, video production and social media. Suzanne is ‘yin’ to Deirdre’s ‘yang’, leading Design’s client management and strategic direction, with a remarkable calming ability to smile in the face of any timeline. Suzanne is on the Board of Volcano Theatre.
David is one of Canada’s most respected names in Direct Marketing circles. He remains actively involved in client business, embodying our belief that a happy agency is one in which everyone rolls up their sleeves, even if they do have cufflinks. David serves on the Board of Second Harvest and chairs their Communications Committee.
Marc is an early adopter in every sense of the word, keeping us at the forefront of all things digital, as DM is coming to mean Digital Marketing as much as it means Direct Marketing. Together with David, Marc leads our Direct Marketing team’s award-winning focus on results results results. Marc serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgian Bay Association, among other organizations.
Curtis lives breathes and works the truism that it can hardly be called creative if it doesn’t score big results. He leads a team of Response art directors and copywriters toward that very satisfying bottom line. He also has a wicked black and white portrait of Neil Young hanging on his wall.
